Dog friendly village pub
In St Nicholas Hurst
This 19th century Wheelwright's shop started selling beer when the railways arrived in the early 1850s. Now, our dog friendly pub attracts both local residents and visitors alike to enjoy the cosy atmosphere and great service. While you’re in the area why not pop over to Dinton Pastures for a lovely walk around Black or White Swan Lake and return to the Wheelwright's Arms for a well-deserved beverage, a bite to eat and a treat for your four-legged friend.
Come inside and you’ll find a welcoming smile behind the bar and several drinking and dining areas to suit all occasions. Whether you’re joining us for the best Sunday roast, a celebratory meal, drinks with friends or to enjoy the live music, there’s always a reason to visit. We can cater for private functions and business networking events, so please ask us how we can help. Head outside and you can dine alfresco, whatever the weather, with not one but two outdoor areas to choose from. Out front we have a patio area and out back we have an enclosed pub garden complete with heated canopy with festoon lighting. We can’t wait to see you soon.
We pride ourselves on bringing you the best pub food in Reading and whether you’re visiting for a lazy lunch, a celebratory dinner or a big event, we’ve got you covered.
We are part of the Wadworth family and although we don’t have accommodation at our pub, there are some fabulous options for you in the collection across the South West of England, if you’re looking for your next getaway.
